Tuning in to Twilight

Sat, Aug. 8, 2026 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Midpen guided activities are led by trained volunteer docent naturalists. All are welcome.

Docent Naturalists Renée Fitzsimons, Dave Kocsis, Cathy Brown, and Karen DeMello are ready to guide you on a “twilight into night” nature experience along the Sunny Jim and Horseshoe Loop trails. This leisurely-paced discovery walk will focus on listening, observing, and feeling the shift that occurs as wildlife, the sky, and people adjust to the onset darkness … owls may hoot, bats may forage, and the constellations may have stories to share. Children 10 years and older are welcome. Bring a flashlight. Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after July 25 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close August 7 at 2:00 p.m.

Where to Meet:

Meet at the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard located one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. After entering the preserve, turn right and go to the farthest parking area. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 45 minutes travel time.
