Join us in a fun, interactive learning experience which will teach you about what a King Tides is, and why they are so exciting. All ages are welcome – activities will be accessible and enjoyable for kids and adults alike. Be prepared to get a little wet!WALK-INS ARE WELCOME!

Join Peninsula Open Space Trust for a beautiful walk at Pillar Point Bluff just north of Half Moon Bay! Join Peninsula Open Space Trust for a beautiful walk at Pillar Point Bluff just north of Half Moon Bay! You will be guided by POST ambassadors who will share details about the area's interesting natural history, from the coastal scrub habitat to the Fitzgerald Marine Preserve which hosts tide pools and breeding grounds for harbor seals. The walk is moderate at about 2.5 miles round trip with about 300 feet of gradual elevation gain.     In 2004, POST stepped in to fund protection of the Bluff, restore it to ecological health, and construct a 1.6-mile section of the California Coastal Trail that now runs across it. Today all 161 acres of the Bluff are fully protected in perpetuity – a process that took four transactions, 11 years of work, and an array of visionaries, landowners, and donors, both public and private.     To sign up, please complete the Eventbrite registration. Join POST on a guided hike in one of most recently-established open space preserves in the Bay Area.   Join us for this beautiful hike! A POST volunteer will share a few words about POST's decades of conservation success before the hiking group explores a strenuous but mostly shaded 5.4 mile hike with ~900 feet of elevation gain.     In one of the county's best preserved, second-growth coastal redwood forests, we'll also pass extensive areas of Douglas fir and oak woodland, as well as a few remaining old-growth redwoods. The proximity to the San Andreas fault results in a unique geology and landscape, while there are many remnants of a rich cultural history of the region. The park is also home to a wide variety of mammals, birds and reptiles, some of which might be spotted along the trails.     All attendees must RSVP via Eventbrite. More detailed information regarding parking and meet-up locations will be sent out to all attendees prior to the event. Join the Environmental Volunteers for a fun exploration of the Baylands. Guided walks and nature crafts will help celebrate the season.Join us for the Holiday Hike & Hands-on Fun event!Come out to the Palo Alto Baylands and the EV EcoCenter on December 14, 2025 between 2:00-4:00 PM for a day of outdoor exploration and interactive activities. Get ready to immerse yourself in nature and learn about the environment in a fun and engaging way.Whether you're a nature enthusiast or just looking for a unique way to spend the day, this event is perfect for all ages. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with nature and have a blast with friends and family!Guided nature walks will be offered at 2:00pm, 2:15pm and 2:30pm. Space is limited, so advance sign ups are recommended. Hands-on activities and nature crafts will be available between 2-4pm, and drop-ins are welcome.
